The Classic Inca Trail is the most popular trekking route in the world and the number 1 in Peru, in this trek we will be able to walk along original Inca trails that are part of the imposing Qhapac Ñan. In these 4 days we will enjoy beautiful natural landscapes and archaeological sites of the Inca period and as a last stop we will visit one of the wonders of the world Machu Picchu.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – KM 82 – PISCACUCHO – WAYLLABAMBA
We pick you up from your hotel between 5:00 and 5: 30 am, we will make a trip through the Sacred Valley of the Incas until we arrive to Ollantaytambo exactly at KM 82 also known as the town of Piscacucho, where we will begin to organize ourselves with our porters, after having registered at the control we start with our walk ascending for 3 hours approximately, 10 kilometers to reach the archaeological site of Llaqtapata, place where we will have our lunch then walk 30 minutes or 1 kilometer to Huayllabamba where we will camp, at night at a coordinated schedule we will have our dinner.
DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYO
Early in the morning we will have our breakfast and then we will start with our hike, we will go through a path, ascending for 4 hours approximately 10 kilometers to the top of Warmiwañusca 4200 m.a.s.l. From this point we will observe a variety of ecosystems ranging from dry puna to high jungle, after having enjoyed our lunch, we will descend 3 hours 9 kilometers to the valley of Pacaymayo, we will pass through some wooden bridges, through tunnels ascending and descending rocky steps, then we will establish our camp and have dinner.
DAY 3: PACAYMAYO – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYHUAYNA
Early in the morning we have breakfast, to continue with our adventure, this day we will descend 45 minutes exploring the archaeological complex of Runkurakay and the archaeological center of Sayacmarca. Then we will go to Phuyupatamarca where we will enjoy lunch, we will continue walking for 2 hours until we arrive to the Archaeological Center of Wiñay Huayna, we will camp and at night around 7:00 pm we will have dinner.
DAY 4: WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO
This day we will wake up very early to get ready and after breakfast we will hike for 1 hour, we will ascend to the sector of Inti Punku (Sun Gate). This is the main entrance to Our Wonder of the World Machu Picchu, from this point we will have an impressive panoramic view, then we will descend to reach the entrance control to the Llaqta of Machupicchu, we will re-enter the Llaqta to have our guided tour that will last from 2 hours to 2 and a half hours, we will visit the main sites, After our guided tour we will take our bus to go to Machu Picchu town, in the afternoon we will have to go to the train station always 30 minutes before the departure time of our corresponding train, we will arrive to Ollantaytambo where our bus will be waiting for us to take us back to Cusco.
